Born on 1st January 1943 in Mashel, Goa, Dr. Mashelkar faced immense hardships after losing his father at the age of six. Supported by his mother, Late Mrs. Anjani Mashelkar, whose unwavering determination ensured he received an education, he overcame significant financial challenges. From studying under streetlights to excelling academically, his life is a testament to perseverance and dedication.
Dr. Mashelkar has authored 25 books and published 284 research papers in leading journals. His groundbreaking research has spanned diverse fields in polymer science & engineering.
